I think there were less than 10 seeds in the packet that I paid $8 for. I’m still hopeful, and will update my review if they germinate and survive transplanting! It’s mid-January as I write this review, so plenty of time for cold stratification.

Store owner replied: Hello Cori. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, as feedback like this helped alert us to check our stock. We are sorry for this! From our follow-up with Customer Service, it looks like we were able to offer you a resolution, and we’re glad we could help. Joe Pye Weed seeds do require cold stratification to break dormancy and trigger germination, and after that you should have some beauties for your garden. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, so we can make sure our customers are getting all the seeds they ordered from us!

Waste of money. Sown with foxglove in the same area and conditions, the foxglove has phenomenal germination and is thriving, zero germination from the Joe Pye Weed. Steer clear of this.

Store owner replied: Hello Pudiéramos Heffelfinger. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Feedback like yours is invaluable, as it helps us continually improve our products and planting instructions. They do benefit from a period of cold stratification prior to planting. You can either mimic nature by storing your seeds in the refrigerator for 30 to 60 days, or direct sow them outside in the fall or winter. After checking in with our Customer Service Team, it looks like we were able to assist you further. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us and hope you have a beautiful growing season!

Again, purchased these specifically to attract butterflies and was disappointed when nothing germinated.

It took about a month to receive the seed packet which really messed up my cold stratification timing plans. Cold stratified five weeks and then planted in trays. Some of the seeds germinated. They all died back after planting them in my new bed so I’m disappointed. Probably rushed through the process too quickly and should have allowed to grow further and hardened off before transplanting. Not sure why a seed packet takes so long to arrive. USPS should not be called a trusted partner.

So far so good. I winter sowed about half a package of seed. lt took them a while to sprout, I was thinking they weren't going to do anything. 3 popped up and I put them in the ground when they were about 3" high. It's only been about 6 weeks but they are growing and I hope they'll flower this summer and fall. Next year should be great.

I bought the Perennial and Pollinator mix and in that a Joe Pye Weed came up. I bought a packet of Joe Pye Weed seeds and planted them in the fall. I have no germination.

This plant is an amazing native pollinator. Those who have had poor germination I would guess did not cold stratify the seed before planting. Many native flowers need this period of cold in order to trigger germination.

Like, I was expecting more then I swear I can count those tiny seeds less than 30 pieces. I would not be surprised with the low or no germination rate. I need a refund or at least send me another packet.
