1.5 lbs of zinnias seeds and the overall number of resulting blooms was lower than expected (maybe half bloomed, many of those blooms quite small). I purchased 3 different mixes. Full sun, nutrient rich soil tilled in, and adjacent to my perennial garden where the plants and blooms outperformed the zinnias. These were direct sow. Given the cost, short life cycle, and unpredictable growing results, I don't see myself trying these again next year.
Store owner replied:
Hello Lisette. Thank you for sharing your experience with this mix. We are sorry to hear that the planting produced fewer blooms than you anticipated and that many of the flowers were smaller than expected, despite the care you put into preparing the site. This mix has been one of our most popular and dependable zinnia mixes over the years, consistently producing abundant blooms for gardeners in many regions. This season, however, challenging weather across much of the East Coast affected zinnia performance for some growers. Extended periods of cool or cloudy weather early in the season, excessive rainfall, drought stress, crowding, and fluctuations in soil fertility can all influence plant vigor, bloom size, and overall flower production. While these conditions can impact performance, we understand that your results were disappointing. We are grateful we had the opportunity to work with you and provide a resolution. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we remain committed to offering quality products backed by our Grow Guarantee. We hope you'll give us the opportunity to be part of a more successful growing season in the future!
I decided to try to grow some zinnias. I had a spot in my yard where grass wouldn’t really grow so I put a border around it and threw down some top soil. Then I just threw out my seeds and lightly raked them in. They are GORGEOUS!! I will be doing this every year. They bring me so much joy.
The Zin Master mix gives amazing results year after year. It’s my go to mix for zinnias. I plant around Mother’s day each year and have an explosion of flowers by July. They are four to five feet tall by August and attract a variety of butterflies, especially Monarchs.
Such a prolific mix! They are absolutely stunning and so simple to grow. I’ve had issues with powdery mildew and rabbits, but I’ve been diligent with copper fungicide and used pest repellents. The zinnias are still blooming regardless of the disease and pests! I’ve made countless bouquets.
I scattered these in front of my office and it is pure bliss. I have all sorts of shapes and sizes. I am in the Sacramento area and they are thriving. The butterflies and other life that they attract is awesome to watch.
First time trying these seeds and am amazed with the results! It’s magical to walk thru the garden and be surrounded by blooms and pollinators of all types flitting around.
I bought these seeds on a whim and have been thrilled with the results! I had a bare patch I wanted to cover and I’ve gotten so many beautiful flowers already. Can’t wait for the rest of my zinnias to finish growing and bloom!
Bought a pound on a whim last summer, barely prepared the soil and tossed them out. I have never made bouquets in my life but I bet I made 10-15 per week all summer long. The most joy and so easy.
Thanks to this mix I have a gigantic zinnia garden that has kept me and my friends in vases and vases of zinnias nearly all summer. I’m a complete novice and these flowers make me feel like an expert zinnia farmer
A fast growing seed mix. An array of beautiful colors shapes & sizes. Very pleased with your quality seed mix & outstanding customer service. Thank you!
Wasn’t sure what to expect so I cleared a patch at the top of my driveway in my front yard. Even before they bloomed the ground cover of leaves were nice to look at. Then the cutest flowers bloomed. Gave some seeds to my Mom to plant next spring! Now I’m plotting where to plant more in my garden.
I think I bought about $40 dollars worth of the seed. I tossed the seeds on a couple of large prepared beds in my front yard -- easy as pie. The seeds germinated like a dream and turned into spectacular drifts of flowers. Neighbors stopped to compliment me on the display and pollinators of all kinds made my yard a haven. The blooms have continued all summer and are only now beginning to slow down just a bit. I have cut them back a bit from time to time encourage rebloom, but the whole process has been relatively effortless and immensely rewarding. Never have my money and my time been better spent.
We have a big garden and have been growing this mix for years. It is INCREDIBLE and providers a long colorful display and brings in hordes of butterflies. I've got pictures of my husband wandering around the garden looking like a disney princess there's so many butterflies around. The cost of these seeds vs. months of pleasure and beauty can't be beat!! We will sprinkle this in between veggie plants, young perennial plants still growing in, wherever there's bits of sun and soil that needs filling. Go ahead and get this seed in bulk so you'll also have plenty around for easy cut flowers too, and the seeds keep very very well.
It's great for succession sowing too.
I've grown alllll sorts of annual flower mixes from all kinds of brands and this is my go-to.
I didn’t have the time to do much cultivation at all, so I just mainly scattered some seed to see how well they did in my crazy clay-mix soil. They did great, and I can’t wait to see what comes next year when I have a little more time to invest. Will definitely purchase again!
I purchased 1/4 pound of the Zin Master seeds last year and had over half the seeds leftover. I saved them, planted this year and all came up. The colors are a wide variety. Love having the different size blooms. They are in a full-Sun small garden (maybe 10x5) by the sidewalk. Neighbors and walkers admire them. I encourage people to help themselves. They just keep blooming. I wish I could include a picture.
I'm so pleased. It is the first year I have grown flowers at my new country home. After weeks of toiling to build my flower bed together with planting and caring for the seeds I have an extraordinary zinnia garden. For sure I will be ordering again next year.
I planted this mix a couple years ago and had great success with germination and plants. Since then I've tried single variety zinnia plantings and decided this mix beat them all for me- the variety of shapes, sizes and colors fills in better and looks better longer than trying to plant groupings such as California Giants in back with shorter varieties in front. For a mass zinnia bed with exuberance, this is the way to go.
I planted these for the first time in early spring and they started to bloom here in middle TN several weeks ago. I can't possibly describe how beautiful they are. The variety, quality, and quantity is incredible. So so so pleased.
The zinnias bloomed all summer and into the fall 2019. Stunning arrangement of colors. Birds/Bees/Butterflies loved them. Even a rabbit moved into the garden and had babies among the zinnias. Very hardy and long lasting.
We'd pulled up all the existing plants below our front windows but still wanted summer color. We got a full pallet of blooms in all forms! Everyone who has come to our door has commented on this outstanding display! Thanks, Eden Brothers!
Ordered from this company last year and didn't really know what I was doing yet....had awesome results. Planted the Zin Master this year for about 400 sq. ft of beds and they are turning out awesome so far. Will definitely be ordering more next year, thinking about mixing in some of their comso seeds.
Wow! I've bought Zinnia and other seeds from Eden Brothers and have always been thrilled each time. They arrive on time, the ordering process is super easy and the planting is now a group effort at my condo associaton every Spring! All other neighbors are encouraged to cut bouquets all season long and we all enjoy the flowers from first blooms until heat of summer takes them. 110% Happy In Memphis !
Planted these in late June and they were in full bloom for the monarchs in August and September. Our patches of zinnias were about 5 feet by 50 feet. The biggest splash of color we have ever seen. Amazing seeds and flowers! Also attracted all kinds of bees, and goldfinches. Beautiful cut flowers for inside!
Planted late due to the weather. When planted the seeds were sprouting in just a couple of days. Thanks for the great seed, will purchase again next year!
My husband harrowed first, waited for weeds to come up and then sprayed the weeds with roundup before slinging the seed out by hand. He then drove over the area until he had wheel tracks everywhere. After several rains we have an excellent stand (so very high germination rate). I am very satisfied.
I shared the seeds with a friend in Mid-GA and my sister in South GA. We are all 3 very happy with the seeds. They are growing nicely and we'll have zinneas all over. Thanks for asking.
My package of seeds arrived quickly, just in time for me to give away as a Spring promotional gift for my business. The seeds are clean, without debris, and ready to plant. Thank you.
