Eden Brothers' 45 Days of Bloom Mix showcases the best of the best ranunculus flowers. Also called Persian buttercups, these are compact, tuberous-rooted plants with enormous, rose-like blooms decorated with numerous layers of delicate, silky petals. Before flowering, the stem and leaves of the ranunculus mimic those of the celery plant. Each plant is prolific, producing masses of long-lasting double flowers on strong stems. Any garden visitor will be wowed by these dramatic flowers. The contrast with the green foliage is stunning, and they're great as cut flowers for bouquets. Give them to friends, or keep them all to yourself!
Note: In Zones 8–10, ranunculus are grown as perennials—plant in fall for spring blooms. In Zones 4–7, they are treated as cool-season annuals. Start corms indoors in late winter and transplant after nights stay above 30°F, or dry-store them and plant in spring after hard frosts.

This year 2025 my ranunculus project was a bust. Same place and conditions as last year. I’d like to know what I did incorrectly. 2024 blooms were great.

Store owner replied: Hello Sarah S. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! Spring-planted ranunculus bulbs often struggle in South Carolina due to the early heat and humidity, which they don’t tolerate well. For better results, try fall planting so they can grow during the cooler months. After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to resolve this for you. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!
Followed instructions and this is them so far. I use earthboxes as I live in western Montana.

The corms presprouted wonderfully (only lost 2) and the 12 I transplanted grew but only about 5-6 bloomed. Yellow was great, cranberry was not

Package of 20, 16 survived the germination process. Planted them outside and all 16 survived the transplant. Only 3 have produced buds and they’re not as expected. They were not cupped/ compact with lots of pedals. The blooms are still pretty… just a disappointing considering the price and only a 15% success rate of budding.

I was so hesitant when i bought these because of so few reviews but so glad i did. My 1st time growing any real flowers but i had huge success. I presprouted and only a few molded. The rest produced beautifully with much more variety than i expected. They are the most beautiful thing in my yard. I wish they came with a few extra, i believe it was the exact amount but again, only a few molded so that was okay. Vigorous blooms in not the best conditions. The pic also includes ranuns from another mix from Eden brothers as well. I think it’s called spring in Paris is the other mix.

Maybe it was me but had no luck in our new cutting garden with our attempt with your Ranunculus bulbs…

Ranunculus Bulbs - 45 Days of Bloom Mix
Store owner replied: Hello James B Moon. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers. We are sorry for any confusion, but they come dried, so they can be stored to plant when it's cooler. Ranunculus bulbs planted in June often struggle, especially in warm climates, because they prefer cool weather to establish and bloom. When planted too late in spring or early summer, the heat can stress the bulbs before they have a chance to grow properly. This may be why they didn’t perform in your cutting garden. After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to assist you with this. We believe you can still have good results with the tips we sent you and we are here if you need additional help. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!
For my first year growing these they did pretty well. I got less than half that were successful but I think it was due to location. The rest did great and were so beautiful

I don’t blame Eden. Ranunculus is hard to grow.

Store owner replied: Hello DIANE R. Thank you review of Eden Brothers! You're right, ranunculus can be tricky in Zone 7/NY. They prefer cool, mild winters and springs, so in colder zones, it’s best to start them indoors in late winter or plant in early spring once the ground is workable. Fall planting only works if winters are mild and well-mulched. Timing and protection make all the difference. After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to resolve this for you. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!
One plant is blooming. 7 or 8 germinated. Seems random since bulbs planted in same beds performed or didn’t, so growing conditions were the same.

Store owner replied: Hello Barbara W. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Feedback like yours is invaluable, as it helps us continually improve our products and planting instructions. It was likely already too warm for them when planted. They like cooler temperatures and in your planting zone we recommend planting in the fall. After checking in with our Customer Service Team, it looks like we were able to assist you. Thanks again for your review and best wishes for your growing season!
I tried growing Rununculus in pots. All the corms I planted came up but they quickly turned yellow. I’m assuming is a Nitrogen deficiency or something to do with under or overwatering. I got one single bloom and it was pink.

I planted the ranunculus roses in the yard fall of 2024, it is now May 2025 and only 4 of the 20 sprouted into young leaves. I planted them alongside tulips from Eden Brothers and all but 1 tulip came up this spring. Zone 5b.

I wanted to share my experience since I too was hesitant to purchase the "Ranunculus Bulbs - 45 Days of Bloom Mix" based on a few of the reviews. I followed the Eden planting guide exactly and made it a task in my morning routine. They all germinated, I then transplanted them under and around my oak tree and they gave us a spectacular show until my Hostas bloomed(is that the correct term?)!!! Anyway, I apologize for the delay getting back to you with this review - it was important to me to respond and yet I have no pictures to present. I had always wanted to grow Ranunculus and hesitated since I was not sure I was up to the challenge. I had heard they were so temperamental, but found this a great introduction and so easy as long as I follow the directions. Thank you E!

I followed the directions to the T for planting - only 2 out of my whole order have sprouted and neither flowered. Huge disappointment.

I have purchased other items from Eden brothers and they have all grown well. The Rananculus was a bit of a let down. I followed the instructions on their website. Presoaked for 2-3 hrs before i planted them in starter pots. 7 spouted but then most of them withered and i have two that are growing. I have just moved them to the planter and will monitor for progress. Overall, not very happy.

This is my first year planting any bulbs, corms, or tubers in my garden and ranunculas were high in my list to grow. I received my order in late March (zone 7b) and got started on sprouting them within two or three days. I did some research on best growing methods and decided to use a pre sprouting method to get my ranunculus going. First I soaked my corms in room temp water for 2hrs, no more than 3. Then I filled a tray with moistenied seed starting mix (Sunshine brand with micorrrhizae), evenly spaced all the corms around the tray, and covered them with a thin layer more of moistened starter mix. After that, I brought them down to my basement which stays very cool and dark and let them stay down there for 2-3 weeks, only checking to make sure the soil did not dry out. In about two weeks they were sprouting, and just after our last frost date I took them outside to get them in the ground. I can't wait to see how they will bloom, but as for sprouting they were 100% successful so far!

Almost of the bulbs sprouted but then only have developed after that. The ones that did were all pink/coral so I also think I was sent the wrong product. Additionally - the description said they would bloom for 45 days and most have died/wilted within a week.

I’ve had good luck with the sprouting and flowering- but they are nothing like the picture half have bloomed so far and I only have 3 variations. Yellow, fuschia and a white with pink tips. The petals are tiny and flowers look more like mini dahlias than the ranunculus pictured.

After soaking and pre-sprouting in a 50 degree cooler for 3 weeks, the corms did not produce many rootlets. After 3 weeks of being planted in a raised bed, only 3 of the corms have sprouted any leaves. If more sprout, I will add to my review but overall, these have been very slow-growing and most are not growing at all.
