I have put my milkweed in the refrigerator to stratify. Time is almost here to plant. Sadly the package is molded. So are The seeds still Good to plant? Thanks Frankie

    Swamp Milkweed Seeds - Carmine

I planted several packets of milkweed seeds, these and mixed varieties from here, following instructions to refrigerate, etc, and got two plants. And yes, somehow Monarchs still found them, and laid ther eggs, and the resulting caterpillars quickly stripped the plants bare and undoubtedly died of starvation before they could mature. Precisely why I tried to plant plenty of seeds, if only they had grown.

I bought these specifically to attract more butterflies and bees and was very disappointed when nothing germinated.

For $6 I received about 30 seeds. Fifty cents a seed. Disappointing. I later found Everwilde Farms sells about 200 seeds for $3.48. Reviewers say germination rate is high. I'm going there.
