Customer photo review of Ageratum Seeds - Dondo Blue

Zone 5b here, planted seeds indoors and very slow to take off. I was hesitant to trf outside they were so small so I waited until mid June. It's mid July and they are just coming into bloom. Planted all 15 of them in a circle area in full sun and look great in mass. Flowers tower above the plants - so great for mid border and do not require constant watering : ). Love the color Purple Blue!

I have never planted ageratum but I will from now on. It is in full bloom right now in Oct. Zone 6. I love them. I just planted the seeds in the ground in early spring after the last frost in MA.

I hope I haven't created a monster with these. They grew to an easy 3-4ft in full sun/zone 6b/Pennsylvania and bloom like crazy. They have a definite cottage/wild garden vibe. No disease, bugs, deer or rabbit issues. Those that I put in shadier areas are far shorter and have not bloomed nearly as well.

I have tried planting these 3 different times outside after temperatures warmed up, and never had any germination. On the last try, I emptied almost half the packet hoping for at least a few seeds to germinate, but not one seed sprouted. I was hopeful for something since other reviews were great, but maybe there was a different batch of seeds this year? Disappointing.

I planted these seeds about 5 years ago. They have reseeded themselves (I guess) because they have return every year in a slightly enlarged area. We are zone 6. They have survived very cold, hard winters, and presently about 10 days of 100+ degree days days and they are beautiful. I love them!

I planted these seeds in a container and had success with them, I started the seeds inside and replanted them outside in the container.

Started these indoors but would be best to direct sow. Didn’t get flowers until late summer due to transplanting. Then they took off! Tall with bouquets of blue. Lovely and soft against red roses and purple dianthus. Will plant again en masse in a spot where they can really shine.
