Flowering Alternative Lawn Flower Seed Mix
Store owner replied: Hello Jim B. Thank you for sharing your experience with this mix. Because this mix is primarily perennial, the first season can look much more sparse than expected as many of the plants focus on developing roots and foliage before providing a fuller display. A late-spring planting in Zone 8 can also make establishment more challenging as summer heat arrives and the soil surface dries more quickly. We are glad the information we provided was helpful and that we were able to offer a resolution so you can fill in the area if needed. Allowing the established plants to overwinter should give you a much better picture of the perennial portion next season, and we hope you’re rewarded with a beautiful display!
Zone 4-5 Clay soil thats been amended. I had pretty good luck with this mix. The sweet alysium white (sorry if I mispelled) did really well and I got a few others popping up but not like the picture. I'm assuming this is just because those flowers like the conditions more than the others and not because there was a problem with the seed mixture. I'd recommend this mix if you want to see what grows best in your yard then in future years you can just buy that plant type.
