Buds are jet black. Flowers are stunning. Photo taken with the late afternoon sun on the blooms, making them appear more fuchsia, however they are a very deep red/burgundy.

Although these flowers are unique and beautiful, the pictures on the website listing are a bit misleading. I would say these flowers lean more toward red and burgundy. Certainly not as dark as the website photos appear.

Gladiolus Flower Bulbs - Black Star
Store owner replied: Hello Courtney D. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We greatly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It's so important to have feedback like this so we can continually improve our products and planting expectations. When planted later in the season, intense summer heat can put stress on the plant before it has a chance to establish strong roots, which may delay or even prevent blooming. After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to resolve this for you. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!
They are growing in a container. They look really healthy. But they have not bloomed yet. I planted them late - since I bought them on sale.

These came up, but there were absolutely no blooms, and I think it was because I did not plant them deeply enough. I'm hoping that next year they may come up and bloom but any advice would be appreciated. They look absolutely stunning in the picture.

It's exactly the deep dark red I was looking for. They are beautiful.
