This lily species boasts dozens of small flowers with tall stems. They can take longer to grow but are well worth the wait. If spring planted, martagons are most likely to grow and bloom the following year. Their beautiful blooms have the same recurved, spotted petals and pollen-drenched stamens as classic lilies, but their overall appearance is very different. They're highly fragrant and mix well among shrubs and in woodland conditions. Give them a try, and expand your horizons!

Customer photo review of Lily Bulbs - Martagon Mix

Ordered some of these in the past, re ordered this year because they are growing so well. Planted them and several did not come up yet but that seems to be ok because sometimes they come up the second year . Photos are from plants that have been planted 2 years.

I bought these on a whim, looking for a shade garden lily that would integrate well into my woodland garden and look natural. The first year they didn't do much, and I was disappointed, thinking they did not suit my site. But this year they are magnificent, rising 4.5 feet out of the ferns, and looking quite magical. A friend said he thought the faeries may join us at any moment! I only took off one star because my "mix" turned out to be all plum colored lilies and I was hoping for a mix like the description suggested. I planted them in clusters of 5 in three groups and I love them.

I did order late! But the bulbs I received were not viable! I’m a Horticulturist and order from all over the country. The calla lilies, tuber roses, and oriental Lillie’s were a complete failure and a major disappointment! They were planted immediately upon arrival, and appropriate soil amendments were added. Many of the bulbs were soft/rotten! I worked at the Missouri Botanical Garden for (14) years. I know what I’m doing. You made a very bad first impression!
