This is my first time growing lisianthus from seed, and so far it’s been going well. Half of the seeds germinated in 1 week and by week 2 almost all seeds had sprouted. These seedlings are about 4 weeks old and thriving! I bought seed from another known company to see which would work best, and while the quantity is double that of Eden Brothers, the germination was not as great. I highly recommend buying your seed from Eden Brothers if you’re interested in growing these flowers.

First season growing Lisi from seed and had great success! Started them January 1st, 2025 in my basement and by July 20th had beautiful Celeb Madonna blooms!! They are tricky to grow and need a LOT of TLC when they starting out, but so worth it! Great germination on these!! Planning to buy more for 2026! Thanks Eden Brothers!!

Despite heating pads, lights and lots of effort not a single seed germinated. Quite disappointing

I got zero germination on 2 packets of Celeb Madonna lisianthus seeds. I was really in love with the color of this lisianthus and its not available on my other seed supplier so I bought it here hoping it I can grow it. But it didnt germinate. I got 80 % germination on the seeds that I bought from the other supplier that was planted on the same date and the same tray. But the 2 packs of seeds none, and its been almost 2 months now since i sow the seeds.

I went to sow these, and they come in a tiny vial. I counted maybe 23 seeds at first. I used a damp toothpick to transfer them as they are very very small and half of them disintegrated into a white film?! I've never seen seeds do anything like this. I'm pretty dissapointed in how these are, and I have little hope that only a few if any will geminate.

Lisianthus Seeds - Celeb Madonna
Store owner replied: Hello Emalee, Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We greatly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It's so important to have feedback like this so we can continually improve our products and processes. Lisianthus seeds are sold as pelleted seeds. This means that the tiny, natural seeds are coated with an inert material to make them easier to handle. When you used a damp toothpick, the moisture may have dissolved the pellet coating, causing the seeds to appear as if they “disintegrated.” Consider using dry toothpicks or a very fine, dry tool to handle pelleted seeds for any future planting. Any moisture can cause the pellet coating to dissolve prematurely. After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to resolve this for you. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!
I want to start by saying I have never tried to grow these before, so I likely made a mistake or two along the way. Although I am an expert level gardener, I was trying new and therefore I believe I made a mistake somewhere that caused my failure. I was incredibly shocked to have been so successful in the germination stage, I managed to germinate every seed successfully, but that's about as far as I got. I did manage to nurse them up to a slightly larger size but unfortunately I lost them, likely due to an uncharacteristic weather day. I can't speak to anything past the germination process as I didn't get that far, but considering every single seed germinated, I would 100% try these again.
