Customer photo review of Morning Glory Seeds - Heavenly Blue

I started about 70 seeds for a trellis I'm building for a retaining wall. FIVE days later about 90% have already sprouted. I cut cardboard paper towel holders into circles, put them inside a cardboard box, added planting mix and water and covered with a plastic bag to create a mini greenhouse.

I planted these in late May in upstate NY. They grew very well, but only one has bloomed (9/29). It was beautiful. Did I do something wrong? Will they come back next year? So many questions.

Store owner replied: Hello Cornmaidem. Thank you for sharing your experience with us at Eden Brothers! They usually complete their life cycle in one season and won’t return the following year unless they reseed. In your planting zone 6, cooler nights and rich soil can limit blooms. Planting in full sun once the soil is warm and providing a trellis will help. Using a bloom booster that’s low in nitrogen can also encourage more flowers over foliage. From our follow-up with Customer Service, it looks like we were able to assist you, and we’re glad we could help. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!

These are the MOST beautiful color and LARGE size. I love them. Everyone who has visited my garden this year fell in love.

I bought a one pound bag of these seeds in 08 I believe, it's been too long to remember... but it's been at least three years. I just assumed these seeds would be done for as they've been sitting in awful dry heat conditions in what is basically an attic for so long. However, I thought I might as well try to use them just to get rid of them. I soaked a huge handful of seeds overnight and then sowed them in loosely tilled soil. Within 2 days, purple sprouts are showing up! I'm really impressed at the indestructibility of these little guys. It makes buying in bulk seem like a good option, knowing they'll be good year after year. Truly surprised me.
