    Customer Reviews

    Overall rating: 1.9 / 5 from 8 reviews.

I purchased this and one other and only one bulb has sprouted. I'm super disappointed. I'm in zone 9. The area isn't too wet and has great sunlight. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

Store owner replied: Hello Melanie. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear only one of your papaver roots sprouted, as we understand how disappointing that can be. In warmer climates like Zone 9, these can be a bit less reliable, as they prefer a longer, colder dormancy period. Mild winters, early warming, and temperature fluctuations can interrupt their natural cycle, even when sunlight and drainage are ideal. Their sensitive taproots can also make establishment more challenging, especially if soil conditions are too rich or disturbed. We are glad we were able to provide a resolution and appreciate the opportunity to help you learn about growing in your warmer planting zone. We’re always here to support your success in the garden!

I planted these last fall when I received them. Alas nothing so far.

I ordered to roots. One has flourished ad bloomed. The other is growing, but by its leaves is most definitely not a Helen Elizabeth papaver but looks like it may be a different type of poppy. Time will tell. Actual ease of planting and growing was a piece of cake.

We planted these last fall and unfortunately they did not come up this spring. Seems like it may be a common problem?

10 of the 12 I ordered were rotten and the other 2 didn't look so good. I planted them but am not hopeful. :(

Planted both roots and followed the instructions on how to plant carefully but had nothing emerge in the spring. Disappointed because I was really looking forward to enjoying them in the garden.
