I WAS EXCITED TO GROW THIS COLOR ZINNIA. I STARTED PLANTS UNDER GTRO LIGTS AND THEY SEEMED TO COME UP BUT WEAK. AFTER HARDENING I PLANTED IN GARDEN AND THEY NEVER GREW, SLOWLY THEY WILTED AND DISAPPEARED WHILE OTHER TYPE OF ZINNIA I HAVE BEEN PLANTING FOR YEARS TOOK OFF VERY HEALTHY. I WISH I KNEW THE CAUSE OF THE PTOBLEM;. I WILL NOT GROW THEM NEXT YEAR. FRANCESCO M

Store owner replied: Hello Francesco M. Thank you for your review. We are sorry these zinnias struggled after transplanting, especially after successfully growing other zinnia varieties. Seedlings that emerge thin or weak under grow lights can sometimes be more susceptible to transplant stress from insufficient light intensity, excess moisture, warm indoor conditions, or sudden changes in temperature and sunlight outdoors. Zinnias love warmth and generally establish best once the soil has thoroughly warmed, which is why direct sowing after frost danger has passed can often produce sturdier plants with less root disturbance. For gardeners in shorter-season climates who prefer starting indoors, providing strong light and good air circulation, like adding a small fan can help strengthen young stems. This along with careful watering and gradual hardening off before transplanting can improve establishment. Different zinnia cultivars can also vary somewhat in vigor, so we appreciate your comparison with the other varieties that performed well and have shared your feedback with our Quality Control team. We’re glad we had the opportunity to provide a resolution and are sending fresh Canary Bird seeds so you can give this beautiful yellow variety another try next season. We hope a direct-sown planting rewards you with the vigorous plants and cheerful blooms you originally had in mind!
I was amazed at how quickly these seeds sprouted, just 3-4 days, and they were robust and eager. The flowers are a gorgeous rich and clear yellow and I got them to compliment the many blue flowers in my garden---they are really striking! Eden has the absolute BEST seeds, and I enjoy ordering every spring---their variety is outstanding. I love this company--they never disappoint.

When all my other zinnias began to die out, these lovelies just kept right on shining! Temps in the triple digits and they are still looking fresh and beautiful!
